Adam Morris

On Friday 1st October Adam’s life was celebrated at
Radcliffe Crematorium.
The occasion was extremely well attended and was a
fitting to tribute to Adam.
Both the League President and I were touched by the obvious love and affection both friends and family had for Adam.

Firstly, on behalf of AFC Wigan may I thank all of the clubs and referees from the League that attended the
Charity Evening held on Wednesday.
I have been told that the amount of money collected for charity
was in excess of £1000 and Adam’s family
wish to thank everyone for their generosity.

On the evening it was announced that with immediate effect the Third Division Cup
will be known as the
ADAM MORRIS MEMORIAL CUP.
A new cup has been ordered and will be displayed
at Wednesday’s meeting.

It is now the turn of the League to give generously and pay
tribute to a member of our football family.
We are now intending to set up a trust fund for
Adam’s son Ethan (Aged 7).

The League will be making a significant donation and already
I have collected donations from teams, referees and
Lancashire Football Association.
We intend collecting monies over the next few weeks
to be passed to Adam’s family.

I am aware of teams contributing their players’ subs and
referees offering to give up a match fee.
Clubs may bring their donations to the meeting on Wednesday whilst I would ask all other donations to be sent to:
Ian Rowan,
265 Gidlow Lane,
Wigan, WN6 7PE.
Please make all cheques payable to
“SLCFL” and write on the reverse “DONATION”.
Yours in sport,
Craig Halliwell,
General Secretary.
