If you would like to join The South Lancashire Counties Football League
Please Note
The League Committee
You are asked to ring between the hours of 6 and 8pm. Like you, the
committee consists of unpaid volunteers and they all have private lives.
Please respect this and try to adhere to it unless it is a real emergency.
Any appeals must be made in writing only and accompanied by the relevant
appeal fee as advised in the handbook. Please do not ring officers to
discuss appeals – your appeal can go no further unless you have
followed the correct procedures.
You have been appointed as a representative of your club.
The Committee WILL NOT discuss any matter directly with a player
you must contact the League on their behalf.
As we are now well in to the 21st century the League is trying to keep
up with the demands of new technology and as such has a website for
you and your players.
www.southlancscounties.co.uk
The majority of the committee is also connected to the web and e-mails
from you (not players) are acceptable to discuss any questions or queries
that you may have. Please see the handbook or website for personal email
contacts.

All games are scheduled with a FA qualified referee.
The season generally runs from the third Sunday of August
until the first Sunday of May.
Finance
There are several components to your payments to the League which are
all added up and
then split in to instalments.
All clubs must pay the first instalment at the Registration meeting
(Usually last Wednesday in July)
by cheque and then the rest of the instalments must be paid by standing
order.
All clubs MUST have a bank account.
The payments comprises the following :

Raffle tickets (£50 but the money is retained by your team)

The outstanding payments can be paid by instalments at no extra cost
to the clubs
or if you wish you may pay all of it at the beginning of the season
by cheque.
We understand that on occasions you may have trouble meeting your financial
obligations to the League. Please DO NOT ignore it.
Telephone the League Treasurer and try to make some arrangements.
If you do not pay your League fees and have not made any suitable arrangements
your fixtures may be stopped causing further problems for both you and
your club.
Player Registrations and Transfers—Open Age Football
All clubs must register the required minimum number of players
18
and as many as they wish up to a maximum of 30 players.
The League will issue a list of players that have been stopped by the
League and a fee payable
to sign the player concerned.
It is also hoped to post this list on the League website but you are
advised to check with the Registration Secretary to confirm any information
you have is up to date.
After signing players you will be issued with a receipt.
Youth Teams
Under 17 – the player must be under the age of 17 as
at midnight on 31st August in the playing season.
Under 18 – the player must be under the age of 18 as at midnight
on 31st August in the playing season.
Youth teams will be issued with I'D cards and players will only be elligible
to play
when the club are in receipt of the I'D card
In accordance with the foregoing qualifications a player under the
age of 15 as at midnight on 31st August
in the playing season must not play in a match where any other player
is older by 2 years or more.
To play open age football the player must have achieved the age of 16.
At the beginning of a season you will be given a list of players legally
registered for your team.
Please check it carefully and inform the Registrations Secretary of
any omissions or errors.
Remember, it is your responsibility and without a valid receipt for
any player they have not been registered.
The League will not tolerate teams playing unregistered and/or suspended
players.
We are actively seeking to eradicate this problem and will act in the
severest manner
if any club is found to have cheated.
You should note that these players are endangering the lives of the
other players and are deemed to be UNINSURED.
The League will try to post county suspensions on the website but this
cannot be guaranteed as being complete and the League takes no responsibility
for any omissions or errors.
Any player surplus to your requirements may be released back to the
League.
However, please be aware that if you change your mind and want them
back it will cost you a
standard transfer fee.
If you wish to sign a player from another club you must obtain written
release from his current club.
A transfer form may then be purchased for the required fee from the
Registration Secretary.
NOTE WELL:
The League has a computer list of all players and spots immediately
any player that has signed for two clubs.
If this happens the PLAYER will immediately be stopped from playing
for ANY team
until the Discipline Committee resolves the situation.
This will probably be at least four weeks later and may cost you the
use of a player you need for your squad.
If you have a youth team in the League they MUST also fill in an open-age
form if they wish to
play for both teams.
If you have a first team and reserve team then one open-age form will
suffice.
